In 1963, three months after the Maker's arrival, the Reed Richards of Earth-1610 had slaughtered the Eternals in their city of Olympia. The Maker holds King Zuras' head in his hands as he brags to them how he defiled their "sacred machine" by reprogramming her to serve him. Zuras demands why he is doing this, in which the Maker answers that he chose this Earth and reality to be part of a grand experiment not so different from the Celestials who created the Eternals, whom he deemed antithetical to change. Zuras then asks if his experiment fails, the Maker simply replies he will "burn it all down and start again" before he rips Zuras' head in half. In the current day, the Ultimates Network has launched a global uprising against the Maker's Council. Iron Lad appears before the Parker family in the Staten Island Savage Land to recruit Peter Parker for the war against the Maker. He is disappointed to find out that the picotech suit is bonded with Richard Parker and forcefully merges it back to Peter as he needed for the final fight. Peter promises Mary Jane and their children that he will be back before he and Tony leave for Latveria. Upon meeting with America Chavez and Doom, Spider-Man asks the group if they have a plan since he notices that there are only four of them present. Furthermore, there is no one trying to stop them. Iron Lad explains that the Council are hiding in their hidden bunkers while dealing with the uprising; in which Tony is using the Immortus Engine to be at 23 places at once to coordinate the Ultimates Network. The other Ultimates members and their allies are engaging in several fronts and there is no one else to help the four in Latveria. Doom and Tony had planned to take control of the City and turn it against the Maker and his Children of Tomorrow once the Dome surrounding the City comes down. The four await the Dome to drop its shield. But suddenly the Dome reactivated and expanded its radius, trapping the four inside the City. Due to the nature of the City, Iron Lad is cut off from his temporal copies as they begin vanishing. Just as this happened, Nick Fury launched his H.A.N.D. helifleet to destroy the Triskelion and effectively shutting down the Ultimates Network, rendering the heroes and the resistance losing contact with each other. Inside the City, the four heroes are left deeply confused about what had occurred, as if the Maker does not want to come out. Tony then believes it could be his father Howard who is responsible for this to ensure to buy the outside world more time despite Doom pointing that Howard could not have lived for thousands of years. The four then sees the City itself being a very polluted and urban hellscape dominated by a massive tree-like spire in the middle. Regardless of the changes, they need to take control of the City before the Maker and his forces find them. Doom theorizes that the central spire is where they need to go. Unfortunately they are then attacked by the Maker's Children who have evolved drastically to the point of developing their own unique language. Despite being prepared to face the Children, the Ultimates underestimate their opponents who resisted their weapons and even the Immortus Engine is not working. Just as all seems bleak, the four are suddenly saved by Deathlok cyborgs led by Death's Head 22, a Freelance Freedom Fighter for hire. Death's Head tells the heroes that they are "valuable and therefore worth saving" and they need to retreat before more Children arrive. He guides them through a dimensional tear before the Deathloks self-destruct and eliminate the remaining Children. Death’s Head takes the four to the base of his commander who will answer their questions or devolve them to single-celled organisms (in which either way Death's Head gets paid). Tony notices the tech around the base are clearly derived from Stane/Stark Iron Man technology and realizes the commander could be his father. But Death's Head is unfamiliar with what Tony is talking about as his commander is known as Immortus, Lord of Time, who is an elderly man with cybernetic limbs in the middle of making more Deathloks. Tony asks Immortus if he is his father, but Immortus does not recognise him and seems to be insane. Doom interjects into the conversation by informing Immortus that he and the others had come to end the Maker and request Immortus' help to find him. But after hearing Doom's words, Immortus bursts out laughing in amusement. He tells Doom that it is not finding the Maker, but it is escaping him because the Maker is the City! He had transformed his body to become the massive spire.
