Aspen is treated in Hawaii after being rescued from the ocean and the doctors find that her physiognomy is different from that of a normal human. Chance is blasted by Maylander for firing the missile that destroyed the Deep Marine Discovery research station. Killian sends his people to attack installations of the surface world. Aspen is swimming with dolphins in the ocean when she is approached by Killian who explains her origins and begins to train her as a weapon for his people. Afraid of Killian's brainwashing, Cannon approaches Chase and asks for his help in rescuing Aspen.
Aspen continues her training under Killian who forces her to defend herself and kill on a mission. Unbeknownst to his followers, Killian has a secret alliance with Admiral Maylander. After Aspen proves she can use her powers to run Killian's fantastic technology, he sends her on another mission with Kyla and Taras.
Things get confusing for Aspen when Cannon and Chance show up to rescue her from Killian's clutches. When it turns out that Kyla secretly works with Cannon, Aspen is convinced. Without Aspen as his weapon, Killian utilizes another underwater being to power his weapon that sends a beam all the way to the stars.
With Killian's blue sun hanging ominously over the ocean, Cannon fills Aspen in on part of her origins. As the blue sun shoots a beam deep into the sea, Aspen, Cannon and Chance fly into the beam and try to discover a way to stop Kilian's plan of destruction.
Aspen and Cannon battle Killian. Killian throws Aspen into a dimensional barrier that threatens to destroy the Earth but she emerges with new powers. Aspen shuts down the beam and destroys Killian.
