Mary is visiting her friend, Mr. Simpson who is growing giant seeds into a proper plant business with his seeds from Flower Land, which grow overnight. The next day, Mary finds that some people don't have houses that aren't on wheels and finds that the seeds Mr. Simpson found weren't flowers but gourds. One of them tries to roll over on to Mr. Simpson and Mary calls SHAZAM to become Mary Marvel and smash into one of the giant gourds. Mr. Simpson points out that these are basically useless to him, since gourds are mostly only good for painting and no one would want to paint one the size of a house. Mary Marvel gets a sudden idea and cuts open one of them, reveal that they can use these hollowed-out gourds as cheap housing for the needy for no rent until they get back on their feet. Overhearing them as they start planting some more, racketeering gangster Jack Joggins decides to intervene and legs it into the gourd neighborhood with them. Mary Marvel soon finds that the gourds also create vines large enough to break even the gourds with an ax while Mr. Simpson starts to find people to move in. People start to bring in furniture and Mary finds the housing cute and folksy like a fairy tale during this horrible housing shortage. Jack Joggins angrily starts planting a few seeds of his own… The next day, Mary brings some charitable food to the needy people of the Gourd Homes, she finds a lady being attacked by one of the vines and calls SHAZAM to become Mary Marvel, who rips her free. She begins tearing out the new vines, which Jack is hoping will force people to move into his competing Joggins Settlement with “reasonable” rents that he openly says out loud that he'll demand double rent from. Mary Marvel saves a baby and pushes another Gourd Home back into place, then finishes tearing up all the vines by the root and throws them into the ocean. Mary Marvel finds Joggins Settlement and punches him into one of the gourds and rolls it to a judge for no doubt sabotaging Mr. Simpson's Gourd Homes. Later, Mary Marvel tells Mr. Simpson that Joggins is in jail now and they can start up another Gourd Home and that people enjoy the folksy tiny house movement of 1947.
