Outside the Marvel/DC duopoly. Often creator-owned with outsized cultural impact and far greater natural scarcity.
No returnable copies, no overprint buffer. True scarcity with potential for explosive growth on media adaptation news.
No narrative synopsis recorded in GCD for this sequence.
In illiquid alternative asset markets, sovereign blue-chip holdings trade at an exponential multiple over mid-grade float due to institutional accumulation and inelastic seller reservation prices.
Four days before Peter Parker’s funeral, Tony Stark attends the funeral of his brother Gregory. At the cemetery afterward, he is approached by Jonathan Blackhaven, a wealthy businessman who reveals that he and Gregory had been business partners. Blackhaven tells Tony that he is interested in more than money and invites him to Zurich. At a lavish chateau in Switzerland, Blackhaven introduces Tony to a group of extraordinarily wealthy entrepreneurs, including Damon Dunn, whom Tony already knows. Blackhaven explains that they have all built their fortunes through their own intelligence and ingenuity rather than inheritance, making them part of an elite group of self-made individuals. He invites Tony to join the Kratos Club, an organization composed of more than fifty influential people who intend to combine their wealth, knowledge, and resources to shape the world's future. Tony is left contemplating the offer while sitting at Peter's funeral. Meanwhile, Kitty Pryde attends Peter's funeral but becomes furious upon seeing J. Jonah Jameson and Nick Fury mourning him. She leaves the church and lashes out at the reporters gathered outside, phasing through one reporter's camera and destroying it. Kitty reflects bitterly on how Peter was mistreated while he was alive and believes that many of those now mourning him failed to appreciate him when he was still alive. Outside, Kitty encounters Bobby Drake sitting alone and crying. Bobby is devastated by Peter's death and frightened that, as a mutant being sought by the government, he can no longer return to May Parker's home without putting her in danger. Convinced that being a superhero will eventually lead to their deaths, Bobby admits that he is afraid of what lies ahead. Kitty offers him a way to disappear somewhere safe, provided he promises never to use his powers again. Bobby agrees, but only if Johnny Storm can come with them. Two weeks earlier, Karen works with Bruce Banner in an attempt to help him control his anger. She asks Banner about the first time he transformed into the Hulk, which he remembers as an incident involving Spider-Man. When Banner becomes uneasy about the therapy, Karen assures him that she can keep him under control and uses her abilities to calm him as he transforms into the Hulk. Nick Fury then enters and asks Karen whether she can continue controlling the Hulk. She admits that it becomes increasingly difficult each time, but assures Fury that she remains capable of doing so. Fury tells her that S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a use for the two of them and that he will contact her when they are needed. After Fury leaves, Karen comforts the sleeping Hulk, who dreams of destruction.
