37 years ago, a young Victor von Doom lies dreaming in his tent. Having found his location, and in search of vengeance for his future misdeeds, Morgan Le Fay enters his tent, preparing to kill him. She stays her hand at the last second however, deciding that killing Victor without him even knowing why he has died is not sufficient. She disappears, just as the young Victor wakes. In the present day, Norman has just held a speech for his new H.A.M.M.E.R. troops and is watching the recent unveiling of his Avengers team together with his teammates. Meanwhile, Morgan Le Fey has found the now adult Dr. Doom, and unleashes a magical assault upon him. She overwhelms him, as his terrified H.A.M.M.E.R. escort calls Osborn for reinforcements. Osborn and his Avengers suit up and fly to Latveria. They arrive just before she can kill Doom, and when she refuses Osborn's order to stand down, the Sentry swiftly decapitates her. As the Avengers admire their handiwork, the Sentry suddenly explodes. Morgan Le Fey appears once again, explaining that she is not of their time, and that even if they kill her in the present, she will return from the past to destroy them. Ares attempts to use his status as the God of War to ask her to stand down, but she rightly deduces that he is estranged from Olympus. She enchants Venom, turning him against his team, as she unleashes an army of demons upon the Avengers.
