Comics grow darker and more socially aware. Wolverine, Punisher, Swamp Thing debut. Creator-driven storytelling emerges.
Newsstand variants carry meaningful scarcity premiums. First appearances from this era are blue-chip investments.
In illiquid alternative asset markets, sovereign blue-chip holdings trade at an exponential multiple over mid-grade float due to institutional accumulation and inelastic seller reservation prices.
Johnny Boone was flyiing a top secret spy jet over the Soviet Union taking photographs when he got caught in the worst electrical storm he ever saw. His plane was struck by lightning melting all of his instrumentation. Just before the plane crashed Boone ejected, landing in Moscow. He was suprised to find the streets of the city so empty, until he was approached by one man who knew his name and told him to come with him. Johnny ran before realizing that he never did survive the plane crash and that this was the spectre of death coming to help him find his way.

A man threatens a witch unless she hands over two lenses which will make him invisible. She implores him not to try it, but relinquishes the lens. They can be reversed to make the invisible visible once again, but what the man did not expect is that when he becomes invisible to the outside world, the outside world in turn becomes invisible to him.
