Clark prepares for both finishing a story for the Daily Planet and arriving to a lunch with Bruce and Diana. Perry yells at Clark that the Daily Planet doesn't have anything to publish, while Bruce is worried that Clark won't make it in time. Clark calls Bruce and Diana to tell them that he will do his best to make it in time. Despite this setback, Bruce is confident Clark will arrive, but Diana thinks that Clark's job as Superman is more important that his friendship with them. Bruce and Diana make a ten-thousand dollar bet: if Clark makes it in time, Diana will donate the money to rural agriculture renewal; but if Clark doesn't make it, Bruce will donate the money to journalism education. Clark puts on his Superman uniform and goes on to solve problems all over Metropolis, while Bruce and Diana talk about their own different perspectives on Superman's life. As Superman puts out a fire and finds bombs hidden across the city, Diana says that Superman can't just fly one mile without finding someone to help. Superman then captures a group of criminals and handles them to the police, while Bruce says that Superman can do anything he sets his mind out to do, with time to spare. Diana says that Superman is unlike Batman or Wonder Woman. Batman would just tie criminals up and vanish into an alley, while Wonder Woman would just throw them into prison, but Superman is polite: he would talk to the authorities and spend some time with bystanders. Bruce says that Diana might know Superman, but Bruce knows Clark and Clark enjoys journalism and deadlines because they make him feel human. Suddenly, Clark reaches his seat at the table, allowing Bruce to win the bet.
