Watching Doom having overcome and defeated Mr. Fantastic, Valeria decides to intervene by talking to Doom to stand down. Valeria constructs a hypersonic signal transmitter, which is geared to resonate with Doom's armor, and her message is instantly received in which she is physically summoned to Doom's mindscape and meets the Sorcerer Supreme in his astral form. While his physical body is engaging the heroes and his Doombots dealing with the uprisings across Earth, Doom has a short time to talk with Valeria and is willing to listen. Valeria tries to get Doom to cease by reminding them of their past conversations in which Doom claimed that he wanted "glory" but instead all she sees now is Doom trying to prove he is not wrong. Furthermore, Valeria points out that Doom had changed his methods from winning hearts and minds and moral rights from the governed, to coercing the entire population to follow him. But Doom remains unmoved by Valeria's words, stating that the people will eventually accept his actions as necessary (in which some did supported him after the revelation in Latveria) and while those who are rebelling against him are only a "violent minority" who threatens the "safety, security and prosperity of everyone else," and he can prove Valeria that he is in the right by watching him. Valeria is sent back to the physical world and Doom shuts his armor off from Valeria's transmitter. The heroes continue their battle against Doom as the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four combine their powers to launch powerful energy blasts and elemental attacks. After enduring their attacks, Doom uses his mastery of Chaos Magic to temporarily render the mutants powerless, similar to what the Scarlet Witch once did. Doom becomes briefly distracted with Squirrel Girl, who weakly clings on to Doom's metal boot, before realizing Brain Drain is helping a wounded Reed Richards to cast a spell which channels the powers of every hero who can produce energy, and with help from Susan, into Beta Ray Bill's weapon Stormbreaker. Ben Grimm picks up the empowered hammer and bashes into Doom, sending him flying into his ruined castle. But unfortunately for the heroes, Doom still remains undefeated. Using all his magic and powers, Doom channels them into his armor which then explodes into millions of magic-infused shards that saturate the battlefield. Everyone is hit by the shards, which tears into their armor and flesh, leaving them badly wounded but still alive. After reforming his armor and mask, and with the world still watching the battle, Doom announces to his audience that he is still merciful to his enemies but swears the next time they resume their attack on him he will not be charitable. He then stops his monologue when he sees Valeria, who at some point had arrived and had been hit by his shards. Doom watches in horror as Valeria's head falls off from her neck.
