Shadowcat tumbles down a chute and rolls into a brightly lit chamber. As she groggily gets up, a huge shadow looms over her. In a chamber above, Gums explains the plan to the rest of the Loonies. Shadowcat had to be dumped down her chute as her container broke, but the rest of Excalibur are to be released down their chutes as one. They put the lids on all the containers, and eager to please, Tailgunner rigs up the dynamite and tries pushing the plunger, but nothing happens. As the Loonies stand back, Gums fires a carrot shaped gun, which fires an energy pulse into the dynamite that ejects each member of Excalibur into their chute, although Widget and Lockheed share one chute together. In her chamber, Shadowcat finds a giant black and white cat leaning over her, calling itself Rochester. As it traps her between its claws, she tries to phase out, but it doesn’t work, and she stays trapped. However, she is suddenly thrown backwards as Rochester screams and writhes, leaving Kitty to the conclusion that though she can’t phase through him, he must be robotic as his systems have become disrupted. This only makes Rochester angrier, and when it recovers, it dives at her, but she flips out of the way. As it rounds on her again, she slides underneath him, using his tail to swing onto his back where she uses her power to disrupt the electrical circuits she finds there. Rochester buzzes and then collapses, seemingly asleep. As she looks at him, she catches her reflection in a metal eyelid that shows that she is now wearing ear rings. She doesn’t remember putting them on, or even owning a pair that look like them, so she takes them off, and finds her abilities return. She phases out of the room, to find out what’s going on.
