Amnesiac and lost after his encounter with the Source, Spectre finds himself on earth. He is taken in by two individuals headed to a faith healer. They think the healer can help him with his amnesia, so he agrees to go with them to see her show. During the show, Corrigan is called to be healed. However, it is soon revealed that the healer is not all she seems. In fact, she is infected with an alien parasite that is growing within her. Though her body is animated by the parasite, her soul is gone. Soon, more parasites descend on the crowd and begin to over take them. The Spectre proves immune because he is already dead, but after the parasites attempt to take him, his memories return. Corrigan learns that the healer believes it can hear god. When he becomes the Spectre and melds with her mind, he can hear only the psychic buzzing of the other aliens in her mind. He reveals that this is not the true voice of god, but the healer will not believe him. The Spectre calls the aliens blasphemers for believing in this false voice of god and proceeds to destroy the creatures along with their human husks from which the human souls have fled. He offers to spare one if they will renounce the mad buzzing as a false god. All refuse, so he kills them all. Soon he finds the queen alien responsible for birthing the parasites. The alien reveals that it has lost its way and can no longer hear the voice of its god. The Spectre denounces the purported voice as the buzzing of the other aliens. Now that they are dead, she cannot hear it. The queen cannot abide to live without the voice and dies. The Spectre destroys her body by hurling it into the sun.
