Kid Colt is riding into Cave Creek to pick up some provisions from his old friend Zeke Parson, the owner of the general store. He is unaware that he is being watched by Pike Faro and his gang, a group of cattle rustlers that Kid Colt previously tangled with. Pike orders his men to stand down, as Kid Colt's guns are faster then theirs. He tells his men that he has a plan to get the Kid. Pike sends one of his men into Parson's general store ahead of Kid Colt. There the outlaw knocks out Zeke and takes his place behind the counter. When Kid Colt enters, the outlaw makes up a story about how Zeke is suffering from rheumatism and placed him in charge of the store. Kid Colt buys the story and ends up purchasing cases of bullets unaware that they are nothing but dummy rounds planted by Faro and his men. When Pike enters the general store and orders Kid Colt to draw, the Kid is shocked when his guns misfire. Pike explains that he bought dummy rounds, but that doesn't stop the Kid from fighting back. Kid Colt throws one of his guns into Pike's face and begins attacking him with his fists. But the rest of the gang soon piles on the outlaw-hero and Kid Colt is soon beaten into unconsciousness and they leave Kid Colt for dead. Zeke Parson's and Kid Colt revive from their attacks and the Kid spends three weeks in the care of Zeke's wife to recover from his beating. After he is in full strength, the Kid tracks down Pike and his men and attacks them with guns blazing wiping out the entire gang except Pike. When Pike tries to flee, Kid Colt tackles him sending the outlaw sprawling. Then when Pike tries to reach for a gun on the ground, Kid Colt mows Pike down.
