In a flashback to her life in a her universe, Gwen was reading a Miles Morales comic pre-Secret Wars where he still lived in Earth-1610. In the present, Gwen, directly following the previous issue, is at Miles Morales' house and realizes that the school bomber from the previous issue must be the same student from the comic she read in the past. Gwen tries to explain her background and how the bomber had been pulled into Earth-616 because the Marvel writer did not want to give up on the school bombing storyline they had been in the middle of before Secret Wars. Miles is suspicious but agrees to investigate the student Gwen is talking about, a boy named Damian. Gwen and Miles go in their hero outfits to Damian's house, sneak in, and Spider-Man confronts Damian about the bombing. Damian confesses and babbles about "lottery system schools being unjust" before Gwen suddenly marches in and tries to shoot him for being a villain. Spider-Man saves Damian's life and then knocks him out but the gunshot alerts Damian's mom to come upstairs and find her son lying unconscious next to the superheroes. Gwen escapes but Spider-Man stops her outside and webs her to a pole for the cops to deal with, disgusted with the fact that she would try to kill a minor so callously. Gwen tries to explain that Damian was an unimportant B-list character but is left alone and crying on the pole until the police pick her up and lock her in jail. She broken out by her M.O.D.O.K. friends at the end of the issue, but her spirit is broken in seeing how she is affecting the lives of the people around her.
