A homeless man in Chicago blows on a bottle before witnessing a fiery explosion in the building close to him. Hearing screams from within, he runs in to help before finding the Hood in his monstrous new form. The Ghost Rider takes hold of the man and burns his arm before setting out upon the streets. In a dirty bathroom, Parker Robbins heaves into the toilet after his first transformation into the spirit of vengeance, and Mephisto observes him through a mirror. Hours later, he sits at a diner where he orders all the food they have. When the waitress expresses concern, he sets his hand on her shoulder, inadvertently experiencing all of her sins, horrifying the young woman. Parker finds a dark room and takes some time to rest and get used to his new life, reflecting on everything that brought him to this place, his origin, his family, his defeat at the hands of the Ghost Rider and his new deal with Mephisto for the mantle. Later, he steals a motorcycle and rides off towards a dance club full of vampires and their victims. Killing as he infiltrates, he makes his way toward their leader Hellmuth, to whom he proposes a partnership as he begins his mission of punishment in Chicago. In South Dakota, Zeb arrives in search of Johnny Blaze, finding him ensnared in a spider’s web. Before he can free him, the spider launches another web from the dark and pulls the magician toward her.
