Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

America's Guardian Angel

Hollywood wants to make a film about Wonder Woman's exploits to inspire the troops. Though hesitant at first, she agrees when she learns Steve Trevor is working a spy case in Los Angeles—on the condition that Etta Candy and the Holliday Girls are involved, and that Diana Prince becomes her as secretary as long as Wonder Woman is filming scenes.

Suspicious of her studio-provided maid Yvette, Diana uncovers a plot by the revived Baroness Paula von Gunther, who has returned using one of her own inventions. Wonder Woman narrowly escapes an underwater assassination attempt during a movie stunt involving a live mine and realizes the film set is compromised.

Meanwhile, Steve investigates enemy agents posing as Chinese launderers and discovers a disguised, submersible island base. Captured, he becomes bait to lure Wonder Woman. She is ambushed by actresses working for the Baroness, drugged, and taken to the hidden lair.

Wonder Woman had lent the magic lasso to Etta Candy, however and with the other Holliday Girls she captures Ben Black on Wonder Woman's orders and uses the lariat to extract the Von Gunther's location from the duplicitous director. Wonder Woman is breaks from of Paula's confinement but hesitates to engage with her, as Von Gunther has her slaves operating a death trap Steve Trevor has been placed in. The Holliday Girls arrive and free Steve, they defeat the Baroness, and though Wonder Woman considers reforming her, then engage the enemy agents, who they are already beating before Wonder Woman aids them. Wonder Woman decides she is going to handle the Baroness's imprisonment, believing Paula's genius can be turned to good works, but Steve declares her a military prisoner, so Wonder Woman stands down. Wonder Woman declines a lucrative film career, choosing duty over fame. Her stunt double is left to finish her remaining scenes, while the Holliday Girls get the rest of Wonder Woman's payment.
