Seven Soldiers of Victory: "Exiles in Time"
Vigilante's enemy the Dummy receives status reports from his lieutenants, and one after another they tell him they've run into interference from members of the Seven Soldiers of Victory and can't pull off the job. It infuriates the Dummy that his enemy would dare even the odds against his organization. He instructs one of his men, Blinky, to let himself be captured by the Vigilante. When the hero searches his captured prey, he finds a railroad ticket and travels to its destination with the rest of the Seven Soldiers. When Green Arrow protests this isn't legal, the king has them thrown in the dungeon as well for having "such rascally countenances". Green Arrow mutters to Speedy this should teach him to value democracy more when they get back. Fortunately, the archers weren't disarmed when they were thrown in the hoosegow and use arrows and ropes to set a trap for the guards. After escaping, they and the musketeers improvise a catapult to get into the palace sneakily and look around. They investigate the queen's jewelry box, finding it suspicious the solid gold box wasn't stolen along with the necklace, or broken open. Obviously it was done by someone who had a key and was gunning to frame the musketeers. They confront the king, with Green Arrow pointing out that in this point in time, the French government was bankrupt, and the king was in no position to be giving lavish gifts. Needless to say, the queen isn't terribly pleased to hear any of this, and to try to sweep the embarrassing affair aside the musketeers are released. The archers wish them well, setting off to find a way back to the 1940s. | Appearing2 = **Featured Characters:** * Green Arrow) * Speedy) **Supporting Characters:** * Three Musketeers ** Aramis) ** Athos) ** Porthos) **Antagonists:** * Louis XIII of France|Louis XIII ** Louis XIII's guards **Other Characters:** * Anne of Austria **Locations:** * France (17th Century) ** Paris **Items:** * Anne of Austria's necklace * Trick Arrows **Vehicles:** *

Vigilante tries to intercede too, but the thieves get away by knocking them down with a load of gold. Antony tries to reward Vigilante with a bag of gold for coming to their aid, but he honestly turns down the reward. At Leonardo's workshop, Shining Knight sees the man was truly ahead of his time, devising steam-powered cannons, a submarine, and even a time machine not unlike the one the Dummy used on the Seven Soldiers. Leonardo protests it doesn't work, but Shining Knight replies that's only because it doesn't have an adequate power source because electricity hasn't been harnessed yet in Leonardo's age. They build a dynamo in a windmill to provide the power.
Ludovico attacks again, and manages to stun Shining Knight with a blow to the head. He demands the secret of making gold, but Leonardo dismisses such a pursuit as foolishness.
