Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

The table includes 3 guide observations and 1 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.

Green Lantern: "The Riddle of the Runaway Trolley"

Alan Scott's despairing of finding a human interest story for broadcast, unaware of how much drama's occurring on the trolley car he's boarding (a rich man's about to lose a fortune, a jeweler's losing his girlfriend, and the driver's just lost his job and is determined to turn his last run on the trolley into a joyride to get back at his bosses). Two groups of thugs are also on hand, one group that wants to the trolley to get back on its route, and another that wants to let the driver go off the grid and have his fun. Much to Green Lantern's confusion when Alan switches to his caped alter ego to try and make sense of the chaos.

The ones who wanted the trolley back on track were hoping to use it for an inconspicuous getaway car, and the ones who wanted the driver to have his joyride were hired by the businessman losing a fortune, who was able to break the franchise by having the car off its route for a few hours. The jeweler's girlfriend realizes her new beau is really a robber, and after she jumps off a bridge in shame and the jeweler jumps after her, and Green Lantern saves them both, they decide to get married. Alan Scott has his pick of human interest stories.

| Writer3_1 = Joe Greene | Penciler3_1 = Stan Aschmeier | Inker3_1 = Stan Aschmeier | StoryTitle3 = Dr. Mid-Nite: "The Riddle of the Blazing Dummy" | Synopsis3 = Dr. McNider and Myra stop at a drugstore for lunch. The doctor happens to overhear crook "Three-Finger Donigan" picking up a prescription of some apparently volatile capsules. Wrried by what that might entail, McNider surreptitiously sneaks a look at Donigan's newspaper, seeing an article about ventriloquist-turned-auctioneer Ed Chatwood circled. Myra comes in announcing she got two tickets to Chatwood's show, which plays perfectly into McNider's piqued interest.

At the show, McNider's disturbed when he sees the same man delivering Chatwood's dummy that he saw meeting with Donigan earlier that day. During the performance the dummy bursts into flames and roasts Chatwood's arm. In spite of his injury, Chatwood goes to an art gallery to perform a Navy benefit auction. Meanwhile, McNider becomes Dr. Mid-Nite and sneaks into the room Donigan's occupying at a ritzy hotel. Inside Mid-Nite finds chemical supplies that confirm Donigan was the one who rigged the dummy to catch fire and injure Ed Chatwood.

At the auction, Dr. Mid-Nite interrupts, attacking Chatwood, whose arm suddenly shows no sign of injury, and had putty on his face to make him look like the ventriloquist. It's really Donigan, who Dr. Mid-Nite throws around before finding the real Chatwood locked in a closet. | Appearing3 = *Dr. Mid-Nite) **Supporting Characters:** * Hooty) * Myra Mason) **Antagonists:** * Three-fingers Donigan ** one stooge **Other Characters:** * Ed Chatwood, ventriloquist **Locations:** * Keystone City ** Ritzbilt Hotel ** Radio Station WQW ** Pandora Galleries **Items:** * Willy McChipsey, ventriloquist's dummy * Dr. Mid-Nite's Blackout Bombs
