Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

Another curiosity is the arrival of a sailor, despite the lack of standing water around the desert settlement.

Kit's attention is taken by fleeing bank robbers pursued by Sheriff Hudson of Crow's Corner. Hudson is shot and Colby opts to get him medical attention and try and track down the robbers later. Choosing to save Hudson's life results in the Pete King, the oldest resident of Moon Bow, being shot dead by the mavericks, however. Kit thinks she's gained a lead, though, and seeks out real estate agent Ralph Johnson.

Johnson directs her to High Meadow Hill, where Kit interrogates Captain Silas Horne. Silas reaches for a rifle, so Kit beats him up until Silas admits he has murderous intent toward Pete King. Horne accuses King of being another ship captain who robbed his own crew and got Horne's son killed. Silas insists that Kit take his rifle and lock him up, to prevent Silas from doing something terrible. Kit believes Silas is telling the truth, but the evidence is against him, and he wants to go to jail anyway, so she takes him there before continuing her investigation into both King's murder and the escaped mavericks.

The bank robbers have finally hit Moon Bow's bank but Kit is quickly on the scene, catching two in her lariat. Disappointed that the leader didn't stop for his men, Kit finally think she's figured out who he is, despite his mask. Turns out Pete King was the leader of the bank robbers, but he was betrayed by one Ralph Johnson, who then framed Silas Horne, knowing he had a grudge against King. | Appearing3 = **Featured Characters:** * Kit Colby) **Supporting Characters:** * Captain Silas Horne * Silas's parrot * Flash * Sheriff Hudson **Antagonists:** * Pete King * Ralph Johnson ** Unnamed accomplices **Other Characters:** * Hudson's horse * Doc Green **Locations:** * Moon Bow County ** James' Feed Store ** High Meadow Hill * Crow's Corner ** Bank **Items:** * modes of the ships Emmaline, Corsair and Tropic Queen **Vehicles:** * Emmaline * Corsair * Tropic Queen
