Reading this edition’s market
Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

Secret of the Moon Sphinx
The first men on the moon discover a living replica of the sphinx which destroys their ship. The sphinx explains that it is a disembodied consciousness created by a nuclear bomb test in ancient Atlantis. The consciousness forced the Atlanteans to make a stone body for it and, when they tried to destroy it, pulled the entire continent of Atlantis into space where it became the moon.
The sphinx reveals to the astronauts the answers to all their questions and only requests one answer from them in return - the location of Earth, which it is unaware of since it’s on the side of the moon that always faces away from it. The astronauts stop the consciousness's plan to invade Earth by blocking up the sphinx's mouth with lead shielding from their rocket.
| StoryTitle2 = Earth's Lucky War | Synopsis2 = The planet Kull, which rules the entire galaxy, misplaces their past treaty with Earth. When an emissary goes to Earth to get a new treaty signed, the Earth Council refuses to sign it despite the threat of invasion.
Kull's armada bombards Earth with hyperadioactive rays, but it remains miraculously intact. A human scientist teleports onto the ship and explains that humanity invented machines capable of controlling space-time which they used their weapons to fuel. Earth forces Kull to sign a new treaty ceding the right for any single planet to rule the entire galaxy.
| StoryTitle3 = The Road to Outer Space | Synopsis3 = Two young astronomers get lost in the mist and end up on a floating road leading up to an alien spaceship. Assuming the aliens to be evil invaders, they accidentally destroy the equipment needed to prevent the Earth's core from exploding. The astronomers come up with a solution by using explosive metal to blast a hole in a dormant volcano, allowing pressure to be released from the core.
| StoryTitle4 = Space Cabby: "The Expanding Space Taxi" | Synopsis4 = While on his way back from Rigel, Space Cabbie unknowingly drives through the "focal point of the expanding universe", causing his cab to begin increasing in size until it’s the size of a planet. At the same time, the moon loses its orbit and begins falling towards Earth. Cabbie has a rescue ship ram the giant cab's controls to pick up the moon and put it back in orbit. Cabbie then shrinks his cab back to size using radiation from the variable star Mira.
