I Doomed the World
Frank Cable is controlled by an alien message over his ham radio to create four metal rods. Using volunteers, he has the rods placed at the highest, lowest, hottest, and coldest points on Earth. When it's revealed that the aliens planned to destroy the Earth by sabotaging its polarity through the rods, Frank panics at what he's done. Fortunately, though, one of the volunteers accidentally planted his rod in the wrong location, so the alien plot was foiled.
