Reading this edition’s market
Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.
The table includes 5 guide observations and 0 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.
Graded population
CGC records 62 graded copies for Challengers of the Unknown #2 (1958). Population is the number recorded by this grading source, not the total print run or all surviving copies.
The Traitorous Challenger
While answering the call from a prospector to get a strange creature out of his cave, the Challengers) are interrupted from their task by June Robbins who warns them that her computer warned that their most recent mission would lead to their death. Undaunted, even with June's attempts to stop them, the Challengers lure the creature out of the cave. Once they lure it out far enough they find that away from it's natural habitat, the creature cannot survive and it quickly dies. The Challengers realize that if they went through with their original plan that was interrupted by June they would have died.
