Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

The table includes 8 guide observations and 1 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.

The Hostage!

While riding across the range the Ringo Kid realizes that he is being followed and puts on a chase. Unsure if he is dealing with lawmen or not, the Kid jumps up into a nearby tree and sends Arab ahead to lead his pursuers on a wild goose chase. As the men pass by, he recognizes one of them as an outlaw named Blackjack Kane, but notices that they are wearing sheriff stars. After Arab looses his pursuers and returns to his master, the Ringo Kid visits a friendly prospector. He learns that Rex Bradshaw, the so-called kingpin of Thunder Gap had taken over. As the Kid is being told what has been going on, Blackjacke Kane and his men arrive at the prospectors house to see if he is hiding the Ringo Kid. The Kid is hidden under the cabin through a secret trap door. While the old prospector denies hiding out the Ringo Kid, Kane decides to take him in for aiding a fugitive.

Coming out of his hiding place, the Kid vows to rescue the old man. As he rides into town, Rex Bradshaw has anticipated that the Kid will come for the old man and has his men stand guard around town. That nigh the Kid sneaks into town and quietly subdues all the guards. The Kid then uses his horse to pull the bars off the jail to free the old man. As he is getting the prospector to cover, a group of locals that the Ringo Kid gathered start their attack on Bradshaw's forces. When Bradshaw and Kane try to flee town they cross paths with the Ringo Kid, who shoots the guns out of their hands and subdue them, liberating the town from their control.
