He Who Is Master

The Sensei) and his Men of Death have come to Nanda Parbat with the intention of polluting the Fountain of Life so Ra's al Ghul) can't use it. He demands that the monks give him the key to the temple, and starts to kill them one by one when they refuse.

In his Himalayan stronghold, Ra's al Ghul demands that Batman) choose whether Robin) or Damian) should die, so that Ra's can take over their body. Batman offers to instead help Ra's restore his current body in the Fountain of Life if he lets both of them go.

As they make the climb to Nanda Parbat, Ra's asks Batman how he knows the way. Batman answers that he came to the hidden city not long ago for a Buddhist purification ritual. They see smoke and realize that the Sensei has made it there first. A monk with a torch tries to burn the only bridge into the city, while both Batman and the Sensei's soldiers rush to stop him. Batman succeeds, and fights his way into the city, effortlessly taking down all of the Men of Death as he does so. The monks explain that Rama Kushna) aided him.

At Ra's's demand, the monks point the way to the Fountain of Life. The Sensei is waiting for them there, and greets Ra's as "my son." He says that Ra's and Talia) have proven to be embarrassing failures, so it is time for them to end so that he can set things right. They argue, and Ra's attacks. His father is ready, however, and stabs him so fast that he barely registers what happen. He collapses into Batman's arms, begging him to stop the Sensei.

Despite his age, the Sensei easily outclasses Batman, landing multiple crippling blows in seconds. Batman, however, refuses to stop fighting despite his injuries. Realizing that he might exhaust himself before he can put Batman down permanently, the Sensei panics, and Batman is able to throw him into the Fountain, which burns him to nothing.

Batman wades into the Fountain to heal and has better luck than the Sensei did. Ra's, meanwhile, transfers his spirit into the body of a monk examining his corpse and starts to walk away, but Batman emerges from the Fountain of Life and calls after him.
