Story synopsis
On the planet Third Earth, a battle with Lion-O leaves Mumm-Ra wounded. After making his way back to the Black Pyramid in his bandaged form, Mumm-Ra enters his sarcophagus which heals him. He begins to relay a plan to defeat the Thundercats to the Ancient Spirits of Evil, but they have grown tired of his constant failures. They tell Mumm-Ra that a change must be made. They inform Mumm-Ra of a sword whose power rivals that of Lion-O’s, which Mumm-Ra is tasked with retrieving. Mumm-Ra undergoes his transformation ritual and asks where he needs to go to find the sword.
On the planet Eternia, Prince Adam wakes up late on one of the most important days of his life. He rushes into the Throne Room of the Royal Palace of Eternos to find King Randor and Queen Marlena waiting for him as well as an assemblage of courtiers, Heroic Warriors, and some of the people of Eternos.
Later, in his room, Adam is being reprimanded by his father, King Randor. Adam was supposed to receive the Harness of Honor today, just as his father had received it when he was Prince, as a symbol of being willing to defend the realm.
