Story synopsis

Examining the bomb in Ying)'s head, Jarvis) and Ying convince Nadia) to put on a seat belt while she relays details to Taina); Alexis) readies to drive her sister to Cresskill to meet Nadia at her lab. Needing the whole group to solve the issue, Nadia calls on Shay) and Priya) to meet her at her lab at the Pym Residence. After Fifteen minutes, everyone converges on the Pym residence and introduce themselves. Ying recounts that, while they were trained on how to assassinate, she and Nadia didn't perform such missions as they were too good at science, then they were separated due to their growing friendship. Once Shay arrives with coffee, Ying tries and fails at gallows humor before Priya arrives with Chai; easily earning Jarvis's favor.

With the inaugural membership of G.I.R.L.) together, Nadia explains her origin and how she and Ying were part of a gifted scientists section dedicated to making weapons make to counter or assassinate superhumans. The leader of the science branch was dubbed "Mother_(Earth-616))" and guided the scientists since their childhoods. Now that Ying is in the open, they have until 7pm the next day to free her from the bomb implanted in her head. Despite the danger of abduction or death, Taina is immediately intrigued and wants to help, as does everyone present. Ying thanks everyone for their effort, but they boo Shay making a "lose a head" joke, which Ying actually liked. As the group spend the remainder of the day examining various ways of extracting the bomb while preserving Ying's health, they fall asleep until Shay and Nadia are all that remain.

The next morning, Jarvis answers the door to find Matt Murdock), who was trying to call since last night and is surprised Jarvis got teenage girls to turn off their phones. When Nadia awakens to greet Matt, she explains the Red Room) and Ying's condition, and elaborate they couldn't risk alerting the Avengers) or the Red Room may find out and kill Ying. Just then, all their cell phones ring and when Matt answers his, Mother is on the other line asking for Nadia, asking to be put on speaker. With Ying in the room and Mother wanting Nadia back, she primes the bomb to convince Nadia to meet with her in exchange for Ying's freedom from the Red Room, or she'll kill Ying immediately. With no recourse, the others are tasked with freeing Ying before Mother can recapture Nadia and to alert her upon success; and to continue the idea of G.I.R.L. should Nadia not return. At the rendezvous, Nadia is met by Mother.
