Reading this edition’s market

"Family History"
Superman) saves the Daily Planet tower from one of Professor Killgrave's) missiles. As Clark Kent, he meets Lois Lane) and Jimmy Olsen) as they come out of the building. Clark passes along a message "from Superman," asking Lois to wait for him at her apartment that evening.
That evening, Superman tells Lois he wants her to write down the history of Krypton because he thinks Earth would benefit from it. He confides in her about the War of Clone Rights, Krypton's subsequent turn to genetic engineering, and his father's eccentricities that led Jor-El) to fall in love with Lara) without meeting her and visit their unborn child in the gestation chambers.
Krypton was wracked with earthquakes, and many Kryptonians began falling ill with the Green Death plague. His service robots reported to Jor-El that twenty million Kryptonians died within the last half year. Jor-El came to believe that this all was connected to Black Zero's attempt to destroy Krypton a thousand years ago. He ordered his child (still in his matrix orb) be brought to his laboratory.
Lara arrived to confront him, and after he told her everything he'd learnt, he revealed his plan to send Kal-El to Earth. Kal-El was launched into space just as the eruptions began. Kal-El does not know what happened after his rocket launched: Jor-El confessed his feelings to Lara as their world was destroyed.
Lois is touched by the story, and Superman declares the real gift his father gave him by sending him away is humanity.
