Anticipating that the Venom symbiote would develop a resistance to the treatment he'd developed for its toxic shock syndrome, Doctor Steven began work on a permanent cure in the form of an astrobiological serum derived from the Anti-Venom symbiote. When Eddie Brock confronted him about the Venom symbiote's growing bloodlust, Dr. Steven showed him the serum, which he warned could potentially kill the symbiote if too much was used.
