Definition
The total dollar market value of a company's outstanding shares of stock (Share Price × Outstanding Shares).
In Panel Profits
The total aggregate dollar valuation of a comic book issue's surviving certified population across all graded tiers (0.5 to 10.0). Reflects total secondary market capital stored in that specific book.
Comic-market example
For Incredible Hulk #181, multiplying the 14,000+ CGC/CBCS certified census copies across each grade tier by their verified price benchmarks gives the total market float capitalization.
Calculation
Issue Market Cap = ∑ (Census Population[grade] × Verified FMV[grade]) for grade in [0.5 ... 10.0]
Common mistakes
Never blend non-9.8 holdings into 9.8 benchmarks. Never calculate market cap using cover price or unverified raw estimates.
