Thanks to Green Lantern, Crusher Crane is a gangster without a gang. All his men were sent to prison, with only Crusher getting off due to lack of evidence. Green Lantern issued a warning to Crane that he'll be keeping an eye on him, and so all the other hoodlums and thugs were too afraid of the emerald crusader catching them to join his mob. Crusher sends a telegram to his cousins in Kentucky, asking their help with a big job he had planned. But when they arrive, he finds that they're true country hillbilly hicks, but they were also all he had. At the dock office that day, Crusher and his cousins steal the fifty thousand dollar payroll. But right at that second, Green Lantern and Doiby arrive! As Crusher and his family try to fight them off, one of his cousins tosses the money into the sea to keep Green Lantern from taking it back. While Lantern dives after the cash, the cousins dump a barrel of oil on Doiby, which temporarily blinds him, then they help Crusher get away. Crusher Crane can't believe how badly the job went. He comes up with a new plan to make a load of cash, by stealing a shipment of radium, after which he'll get as far away from his hillbilly cousins as he can. The Crane cousins get dressed up in fancy suits and ties on their cousins dime. Then Crusher takes them to the Vulcan Labs where he tries to trick the head scientist into letting him "inspect" the new shipment. But once again, his cousins mess everything up by jumping the gun, whacking the scientist in the head. Now he had to make sure the man was tied up while he searched the whole lab for the radium. This gives Green Lantern and Doiby plenty of time to find him and his cousins. Crusher and crew run and hide in a nearby nightclub. They put on disguises they find backstage and try to act like part of the show. Lantern leaves Doiby to keep an eye on the Cranes for awhile. Poor Doiby finds himself endlessly harassed by the cousins, and just when he can't take anymore, Lantern returns with Grandma Crane. The cousins grandma whips her boys into shape. She takes them all back home, Crusher included, to Kentucky and puts them to work doing the chores. The Crane crime spree comes to an end, now that granny's in charge!
