Staggered and weakened, Iron Fist is under attack by members of the Golden Tigers. As he fends off one assailant, Iron Fist flashes back to how he ended up in this predicament. Earlier that day, Danny Rand was meeting with the Meachums to discuss acquiring his father’s share of the company — when the meeting was abruptly interrupted by the Golden Tigers and their leader, Chaka. Chaka, seeking to seize control of New York’s underworld, believes he’s been double-crossed by Ward Meachum. To escape, Danny allows himself to be thrown from a window — giving him time to slip away and transform into Iron Fist. Returning to counterattack, he is ultimately knocked unconscious by Chaka’s electrified triple-iron. He awakens in the Tigers’ hideout, where Chaka injects him with a poison — offering him a chance to retrieve the antidote, supposedly waiting in Chinatown, before releasing him. What Iron Fist doesn’t realize is that Chaka has hypnotized his own brother, Billy, into believing he is Chaka — and sends him out wearing Chaka’s costume. Believing he’s fighting the real Chaka for the cure, Iron Fist uses his iron-fist power to overpower the impostor. During the battle, he knocks the fake Chaka into a smokestack — only for the real Chaka to strike from behind, delivering a fatal blow to the impostor’s head with his triple-iron. Police arrive on the scene and immediately accuse Iron Fist of murder.
