The sweet spot for collectors — significant enough to be culturally important, scarce enough to be valuable. 9.8 copies are extremely rare.
In illiquid alternative asset markets, sovereign blue-chip holdings trade at an exponential multiple over mid-grade float due to institutional accumulation and inelastic seller reservation prices.
Raised in an orphanage, a young boy named Mark exhibits several unusual instinctive talents, much to his own confusion; he fends off an escaped bull like a trained matador, makes a French dessert better than a professional chef, and corrects a samurai actor on how his costume should look. Returning to the orphanage as an adult, the caretaker gives him a crystal necklace he was found wearing as a baby. Within the reflection of the amulet, Mark witnesses a past life in which he was a part of a primitive race of men with strange supernatural abilities. He also sees another lifetime in which he used his powers to help Hannibal cross the Alps. He painstakingly writes down many hundreds of more lives in his diary. The following morning, lightning causes a nearby dam to begin breaking and Mark jumps into action with his newly-acquired power of flight. He manages to get everyone out in time, but dies when damage causes the local school's boiler to explode. The men who read his diary know that he'll be back, though.
