Strange continues to indoctrinate Crane by telling him how much he hates Batman and that Scarecrow is the real master of fear. After every session Strange gives Crane a handful of straw. In Gotham City, Batman catches Catwoman during one of her burglaries. But the first second Batman lowers his guard, Catwoman scratches him across the face and is able to escape. When Batman returns to Wayne Manor, he finds Alfred tied to a chair and a mannequin of Hugo Strange is seated at the other side of the table. Hugo Strange's voice comes from a tape recorder inside the mannequin and he taunts Bruce Wayne. Batman orders Alfred to increase security measures for the mansion.
