On Qward, Deadman begins to question why the White Lantern Ring has transported him into the presence of the Anti-Monitor. Suddenly, the White Lantern Power Ring commands him to fight. Brand is skeptical, thinking he has no hope against the Anti-Monitor. The strange voice that has been communicating with Brand gives him another cryptic message: “Fight for your life Boston Brand.” To his surprise, he unleashes a blast of White Energy taking the form of the recently resurrected heroes. The Anti-Monitor is staggered by the blast and counterattacks. Unfortunately, the power of the White Lantern Power Ring fails and Brand cannot fire a second blast. However, Brand is able to avoid a blast from the Anti-Monitor. Still he falls from the sky, but is able to conjure a White Energy construct net to save him from his fall. When he hits the net, he disappears. Unbeknownst to Brand, the net will persist. In Pittsburgh, Ronnie Raymond awakens to Martin Stein at his bedside. Stein tells him that Atom was able to separate him from Jason Rusch, but the separation caused an explosion that turned everything in the chamber to table salt. Stein advises Ronnie that he and Jason must be kept apart and says that Jason reported Ronnie had heard a voice while the were merged as Firestorm. Jason denies this and accuses Jason of holding him responsible for the actions of the Black Lantern Firestorm, who killed Gehenna, Jason’s girlfriend. Ronnie says he is not going to waste his second chance, and leaves the facility. In the North Atlantic, Aquaman summons more aquatic life but it too is undead. Mera suggests seeking the help of Atlantean scientists. Aquaman refuses, and determines to figure it out without their help. However, he suggests that perhaps the people of Xebel can help. Mera vows to stand by him whatever comes, but says Xebel is sealed off from this dimension. However, it seems that she may not be telling him everything. In Pearl River, New York, Martian Manhunter investigates the murder of a family. He learns that the other Green Martian brought to Earth by Professor Saul Erdel is responsible. In New Mexico, the White Lantern Power Battery activates and, simultaneously, in the Bermuda Triangle, a blast of energy destroys a small plane. Hawkman and Hawkgirl track Hath-Set using the Claw of Horus, which has some connection to their original remains. Soon, they locate his forces in the jungles of Peru. As they fight their way through his men, Hath-Set is nearing completion of his plan. When they finally reach him, he is gone. They are shocked to find that he has gone through a strange portal that he has crafted from the remains of their past bodies. They stare at the grisly gate, unsure what to do next.
