Boom-Boom arrives in Pilger, Nebraska, just as Armor is being guarded by Tumulo’s men. Armor quickly informs her that these are Costa Perdita drug dealers holding them hostage. Inside the farmhouse cellar, the other captives—Glob, Beak, Angel, and the twins Maxime and Manon—deal with the guards. Glob criticizes the twins for making the guards kill each other instead of using less violent methods. Tumulo continues to negotiate for Krakoan medicine. Armor resists, but when another armed man enters the cellar, chaos ensues. Boom-Boom and Armor face a barrage of firepower outside. Inside, Angel fights back, the twins manipulate the guards, and Glob tends to an injured Beak who has been shot. Tumulo orders his men to kill Armor and Boom-Boom, planning to use the others for leverage. Outside, Boom-Boom deals with attacker and Armor learns how Tumulo tracked them via the DOX website. As the prisoners escape, Angel drives Beak and the kids away in the gang's truck. Tumulo, holding Mr. Bohusk hostage, shoots him and then himself, warning of more cartel retribution. He also did shoot Mrs. Bohusk. Four days later, on Krakoa, Armor and Glob visit Beak’s family, who seem happy due to altered memories implanted by Maxime and Manon. Armor confronts the twins, warning them against rewriting memories, as it violates the others’ rights and will cause future pain when the truth emerges. The twins promise not to do it again.
