In illiquid alternative asset markets, sovereign blue-chip holdings trade at an exponential multiple over mid-grade float due to institutional accumulation and inelastic seller reservation prices.
Zatanna cannot defend herself from the demons because her tongue is on fire. Using the flames to write a healing spell, Zatanna escapes to the pool and finds a Catholic priest, asking him a favor. Meanwhile, Zach returns to Zatanna's apartment to apologize once again for the party, when the demons ambush him. Zach protects himself using an ice barrier. The priest blesses the water on the pool and Zatanna uses it to vaporize the demons. Returning to her room, Zatanna meets up with Zach, and the two fix everything in the room. Zatanna deduces that the demons were sent by Mammon, the God of Avarice. Zach wants to help her, but she declines, saying that she can take care of herself. Zach gets upset that her cousin is trying to push him away, but Zatanna replies that even how much their lives have changed, she still wants to try and reconnect with him. She promises to see his last show in Las Vegas, and he agrees, teleporting to his room. Suddenly, security guards come into the room, saying that they saw the battle, but Zatanna replies that everything is okay. Meanwhile in Hell, Mammon punishes the three demons for failing in defeating Zatanna by casting them into a lava pit. Mammon decides that Benjamin Raymond will bring him Zatanna's soul. He manifests himself as several people inside Raymond's casino, saying that he got a silent membership on the casino when they made their first deal on the 1940s. He makes a new deal to Raymond: he will deliver Zatanna's soul to him before midnight and he will allow Raymond to keep his immortality and youth, otherwise he will take his soul to Hell. Raymond doesn't believe he can meet the deadline, but Mammon replies that all he will need is a dozen roses. Zatanna begins her show on the casino, but decides to make only one number, as she promised Zach to watch his show. After she finishes, Raymond comes into the backstage and gives Zatanna some roses. Zatanna accepts them, and Raymond invites her for a drink and she accepts, even though her assistant tries to remind her that she promised to go to Zach's show. Meanwhile, Zach begins his show but is upset that Zatanna is not on the audience. Raymond takes Zatanna to his apartment and serves her drink. Just as she is about to drink, Zatanna realizes she has been drugged and perform a spell to regain consciousness. Zatanna threatens to pull his show from the casino and transform Raymond into an animal. Raymond reveals that he is actually Benjamin Raymond and he has been sending innocent souls to Hell to extend his lifespan. He then summons his victims' corpses and orders them to attack Zatanna. While Zatanna is busy fighting the zombies, Raymond hits her with a rose. As the rose's thorns are still laced with poison, Zatanna falls unconscious. Raymond orders the zombie to prepare Zatanna for their wedding. To be continued...
