Kara finds herself on a camping trip with her father, Zor-El, in a secluded part of Krypton. As a reward for passing her exams, Zor-El had brought Kara to a dig site. There, Zor-El inspects the fossilized remains of a monster who closely resembles Doomsday, only for the fossilized skeleton to kill him. Kara is initially horrified, but then, she remembers that her father actually died much later. She realizes she is inside some kind of dream and punches the skeleton to dust. The nightmare doesn't stop there, though, as Kara is suddenly attacked by monstrous Supergirls from across the multiverse. She fights them for the days, but there is no end to the enemy force. The only way for Kara to escape them is to escape from her dreams, so Kara is able to enter Clark's dream and, together, they fight against Insomnia's nightmarish monsters. Meanwhile, Aquaman and his family have been working hard to protect the waking world in the absence of other superheroes. While the rest of the Aquaman Family maintain the safety of the surface world, Aquaman and Mera bring Superman's body to Supercorp. Even now, Aquaman doesn't know why would Superman accept Lex Luthor's offer to run his company in Lex's place, but he has faith that Superman knows what he is doing. At Supercorp's medical bay, Aquaman and Mera deduce that whatever is keeping Superman asleep appears to be a mix of science and supernatural. The Atlanteans proved to be immune to the mysterious force that put the people of the surface world to sleep because they inner ears have evolved to withstand underwater pressure. To awaken Superman, they have to trigger that same kind of auditory block on him. Suddenly, the Atlantean duo are attacked by a blood-stained monster, one of Insomnia's Sleepless Knights. Clark and Kara briefly escape from Insomnia's monsters and Clark talks about his nightmare to Kara. He explains that he saw visions of the world ending and his own fear is that he won't always be around to help. They make their way to the Daily Planet, where they save Lois from a monster made from paper. The entire city begins to tremble around them and the Man of Screams attacks the Daily Planet. Clark, understanding that he can't let his fear control him, attacks the Super-Reaper and throws him into the broken remains of Krypton, where he is destroyed along the planet. In that moment, Mera successfully awakens Superman from his nightmare and Superman helps Aquaman defeat the Sleepless Knight by trapping him in a block of ice. Kara and Lois have already awakened from their nightmares and return home to make sure their family is safe, while Aquaman and Mera inform that they have done their best to protect the surface world while Superman and his family were sleeping. Superman thanks his friends and flies back to the Hall of Justice, while one of Supercorp's monitors briefly depicts Brainiac's symbol.
