Reading this edition’s market
Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.
The table includes 2 guide observations and 0 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.
Graded population
CGC records 19 graded copies for New Comics #8 (1936). Population is the number recorded by this grading source, not the total print run or all surviving copies.
Captain Jim of the Texas Rangers: "Jane and Johnny, Part 7 (of 27)"
Jane and Johnny tell their story to the Rangers, when Johnny sees someone listening outside the window. Ranger Bob investigates, but doesn't see anyone. Captain Jim decides to ride out to investigate further, leaving Bob in command. Meanwhile, one of the rustlers was indeed listening, and he tells the gang that the kids were talking. They decide on a new target, the Circle Bar Z ranch, but when one of them gets cold feet, he is killed. Coincidentally, Bob takes the kids out riding to the Circle Bar Z, and hears the shot. When the three of them investigate, they are ambushed by the rustlers' tail guard, but Captain Jim takes him out in the nick of time. Jim, Bob, and the kids continue to the cabin, finding Bob's line rider, Jed Riley, wounded. Jim decides to go in pursuit alone, ordering Bob to take the others back to town. But as Bob's group is riding back, a gunshot frightens Johnny's pony.
