Price history & market evidence

Price observations belong to this edition. Guide estimates, catalog references and completed sales are separate kinds of evidence.

Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

The table includes 5 guide observations and 1 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.

Graded population

CGC records 52 graded copies for More Fun Comics #62 (1940). Population is the number recorded by this grading source, not the total print run or all surviving copies.

The Spectre: "The Mad Creation of Professor Fenton"

Nancy Fenton's car veers off a cliff but the Spectre is nearby and makes his arm huge to grab it before she falls to her doom. Corrigan takes Nancy back to the house of her father, a well-known scientist, who quickly grows suspicious of Corrigan being there to spy on his great discovery and hustles him out.

What is this discovery? Professor Fenton and his assistant Dexter carried out an experiment to separate Dexter's brain from his body, which caused Dexter's brain to gain awesome mental powers. He uses these powers to spark a crime wave. Then the bodiless villain imprisons Nancy and a remorseful Professor Fenton when they try to stop him. The Spectre investigates and uses his ghostly powers to stop Dexter's attempt to kidnap the president, only to find Dexter is a foe worthy of his mettle when the giant brain engulfs him. As he often does the Spectre summons the Ring of Life for an emergency power boost to break free and destroy Dexter, who still manages to kill Professor Fenton before shriveling out of existence. | Appearing1 = **Featured Characters:** * The Spectre) (Jim Corrigan)) **Antagonists:** * Dexter's Brain ** his minions **Other Characters:** * Nancy Fenton * Professor James Fenton * Chief **Locations:** * Earth-Two ** Cliffland, New Jersey **Items:** * Ring of Life
