Reading this edition’s market
Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

Seven Soldiers of Victory: "Trophies of Crime"
Criminal mastermind "the Barracuda" has flourished in his criminal endeavors, but wants to cap off his career of crime by stealing five great treasures. The Seven Soldiers storm his headquarters, but the Barracuda and his lieutenants manage to escape. Learning each is out to steal some great prize, the heroes split up to intercept their enemies. | Synopsis2 = Star and Stripesy are off to find a piece of a prison wall used in the construction of the famous Bedford Building. While flying over, a plane buzzes theirs and crashes, but strangely they find no sign of any pilot in the wreckage. Getting to the Bedford Building, they find a group of men searching. Who then tear the stone they're looking for out of the wall with their bare hands. In fact, they're robots under Barracuda's control. Star figures that a large electrical buildup can jam radio signals, like the kind Barracuda's using to control his mechanical minions. This allows the heroes to recover the stone, which turns out to be hollow and used to surreptitiously smuggle things to inmates through the prison wall. The heroes decide to tail the robots back to Barracuda's hideout, but he overhears them and sends the robots after them. In the resulting chase, the robots fall into a quicksand bog and are lost, denying the heroes the chance to find the Barracuda's hideout. | Synopsis3 = Some of Barracuda's henchmen make to steal the Cup of the Borgias from an all-glass building by pretending to be a paint crew so people can't see them stealing it through the transparent walls. Shining Knight intervenes but is knocked out by falling debris on his head. The thieves try to roast him alive by trapping him in a room with mirrored walls, but he manages to escape by blocking some of the reflective material with ink. Catching the thieves, he discerns that the Cup's intended use was for a killer to drink from it to prove it wasn't poisoned, then by means of a secret button surreptitiously slip poison into the drink as they handed it back to their victim. | Synopsis4 = Rubber baron J. Edwards is found murdered, but the authorities are baffled by the lack of a murder weapon. Looking into it himself, Vigilante catches some of Barracuda's men trying to steal the curious prize of a rubber dagger. Eventually he finds out the truth: the rubber dagger was the murder weapon, made rigid enough by being frozen that it could be used to kill. Then when it warmed up again and had the vital juices wiped off, it seemed to be just a pliable prop that couldn't damage anything. | Synopsis5 = Crimson Avenger and wing have gone undercover above one of the last sail-powered vessels, the Sally C, expecting the Barracuda to steal part of it. Probably something having to do with how famous crook Hurricane Smith smuggled himself aboard, and went undiscovered for the entire trip. A crook knocks out the pilot and steals a spoke off the wheel, which leads Crim to declare he's disappointed their quarry revealed himself so easily. What they don't realize is this was a decoy and the real job's set to go ahead now that the heroes are off the ship thinking they're already victorious. The criminals unhitch a large patch on a sail that's actually a giant pocket where Hurricane Smith hid himself during the trip. Crim and Wing come back, having realized it was all a trick, but they're beaten and sealed up inside the pocket to deliver not only the Barracuda's prize, but two meddling heroes. They manage to escape and beat up their captors when the truck stops. | Synopsis6 = Machinist Tim Dufree buys an iron ring on a whim, just before the Barracuda's men have the chance to buy it. They tail him to the radio factory where he works and wait for him to come out, so they can steal the ring. Which he overhears them talking about, as that's the special quality of the ring that interests the Barracuda so much. They do indeed jump him as he tries to escape, but Green Arrow and Speedy jump *them*. In the scuffle the ring rolls away and gets caught in the tread of a truck, and reading about it in the paper, the Barracuda's lieutenant goes after the ring again, but is caught by the archers. | Synopsis7 = With all the treasures the Barracuda was after in their possession, Green Arrow has an idea: put them on display in a public museum as bait to lure out the mastermind. Barracuda and an army of his minions do indeed surround the museum, but he has to flee empty-handed when the Seven Soldiers spring their trap. The criminal genius leads them on a merry chase, but in the end the heroes finally catch the Barracuda, making *him* a trophy of theirs.
