Reading this edition’s market
Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.
The table includes 9 guide observations and 0 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.
Graded population
CGC records 360 graded copies for Doctor Strange #171 (1968). Population is the number recorded by this grading source, not the total print run or all surviving copies.
"In the Shadow of... Death!"
Returning home to his Sanctum, Doctor Strange renews his search for Clea. When a strange mystic being (the herald of Satannish) appears forth from the Orb of Agamotto, Strange gets his first clue as to where to find Clea. Enlisting the aid of Victoria Bentley, the two mystics travel to another dimension to search for Clea.
When Victoria is too frightened to go any further, Strange puts an aura of protection around her and ventures further. After fighting a skeletal warrior, Doctor Strange is soon to realize that his attacker was an illusion, and his real threat is the revived Dormammu, giant sized, and now in possession of both Clea and Victoria.
