Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

The table includes 9 guide observations and 1 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.

The Monster from the Mound!

A West Texas rancher named Steve Brill listens to stories of haunted Indian burial grounds from locals. He is very skeptical and feels that the stories were fabricated to scare away treasure hunters from digging up buried gold. Brill is determined to dig up a particular mound that everyone is afraid of but he has no hesitation. One night he digs through the burial mound and discovers small gold trinkets. He is encouraged and continues to dig until he hits a large boulder. Brill goes to retrieve a crowbar to remove the boulder but when he returns, he finds that the boulder has already been moved. He looks towards a window and notices a sinister shadow and then he hears a scream of a man being attacked. Brill enters the cabin and finds a dead man with two punctures in his throat. Brill then realizes that the dead man had been writing notes about the haunted mound and discovers that Spanish conquistadors had also encountered the same strange bloodsucking creature. The conquistadors had discovered that the vampire was one of their own. They captured the vampire and buried him hoping that he would stay in his grave for all eternity. As Brill is reading the account, the vampire bursts through the door and attacks. Brill manages to slam the vampire against a tables edge which damages his back. The then sets the body on fire which brings the Vampire to a violent end.
