Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

The table includes 9 guide observations and 0 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.

Captain Marvel: "A Switch in Time"

Having been in suspended animation for decades, Billy feels out of touch with the youth of the 70's. Becoming Captain Marvel, he flies to Shazam's cave and asks the wizard's ghost if he could turn Billy to his proper age to help him fit in better. The wizard complies, but warns it might have unforeseen side effects.

Meanwhile, wizard school dropout Shagg Nasté tries to blackmail Sterling Morris into giving him his own TV show, supposedly demonstrating his magic powers by turning Freddy Freeman to stone with a spell. What he doesn't reveal is his incomplete training means his magic only works on children and teenagers. Seeing Morris being threatened, Billy changes to Captain Marvel, only to find out that being turned into an adult has changed Marvel into a kid. Marvel goes out of control until he changes back to Billy. Since his adult body makes him immune to the wizard's magic, Billy beats him into submission, then heads back to Shazam's cave to reverse their ages.

| StoryTitle2 = Captain Marvel: "The Wizard of Phonograph Hill" | Synopsis2 = Dr. Kilowatt comes on Billy's broadcast and announces that he's made an incredible scientific breakthrough, but doesn't say anything about what it is. Several groups of foreign spies try to kidnap the scientist to steal his invention but are foiled by Captain Marvel. An agent from the US government comes to Kilowatt's house to have him demonstrate his invention, and the good Captain convinces him it's his patriotic duty to comply. Kilowatt fires up the machine, which makes the house and the hill it's on levitate into the air. The government agent declares that a machine that makes houses fly is useless, and all the foreign spies go home with no hard feelings.
