Screaming to Get Out

Jack Ryder) sits in a therapist's office to work through some repressed memories. Doctor Skolos) attempts hypnotherapy and Jack is overcome with violent visions of transforming into the Creeper. After their session, Jack goes back to the common area of Arkham Asylum, where he is staying following a mental breakdown.

When he tries to sleep, he has nightmares of his mother tormenting him as a child with cautionary tales of monster who stalks bad little boys. He awakens in a pool of sweat and sees a monstrous vision of The Creeper who has decapitated one of his fellow inmates. He has another episode: this time, he thinks back to his crimefighting career and questions if any of it occurred as he remembered and then sees himself on an operating table about to be lobotomized.

When he comes to, he is in Skolos' office and the doctor recommends that he be transferred to outpatient therapy. The stress of being ejected causes Ryder to transform into The Creeper and when he does, Skolos invites a gang of thugs with truncheons to attack him. The Creeper revels in violently dispatching them and then leaps out the window; before he does, he tells Skolos that he knows he is a very bad man.

Skolos files away the paperwork for Ryder to be dismissed and then morphs into a monster with razor-sharp teeth and a long, forked tongue.
