Buzzy

Wolfie manages to trick Buzzy into signing a piece of paper while putting up some decorations in the gym by lying about being an expert on handwriting analysis. He instead uses this paper to try to ruin his date with Susie at the big game and then pretending that Buzzy gave him *his* ticket while doing something "important." Buzzy finds that Alice is sitting in the seat he saved for Susie. Wolfie manipulates this so it looks like Buzzy is two-timing Susie. He soon tells his friends Binks about it and he offers to let him apologize by rigging the supposedly randomized pairings. When Susie explains where she saw the note and Buzzy explains that Wolfie did this. She points out she *did* technically owe him a dance and she *is* wearing his corsage. In this system, she dances with whoever fills out a name in her "dancing program," so Wolfie fills them all out. To fix this, Buzzy alters it by writing that he *relinquishes* all dances to Buzzy, since he still has his signature on it.

| StoryTitle2 = Buzzy (2) | Synopsis2 = A photographer tries to take a picture of Buzzy with Carol, thinking they're a couple. Buzzy refuses to buy them, but Wolfie buys it off the photographer. Two days later, Wolfie stuns Buzzy with a **highly-incriminating** picture of hiim **talking** to Carol. Wolfie makes him buy it off him for $1, then reveals he has more prints, offering him three for $1 more, but also brags that he can just *print* more. He reveals he's not doing this for profit, but just so he can take Susie to the dance. He tells his athletic friend Binks about it and he shows him how to edit a picture the old-fashioned way (with glue.) Buzzy shows the doctored photo to Susie to show off that Binks can edit a picture in such a way and *got the idea from Wolfie*. Wolfie shows up to try, but leaves when Susie is humored by it. What's more, she shocks Buzzy by saying it looks a lot like one *Carol* showed her from a street photographer!

| StoryTitle3 = Buzzy (3) | Synopsis3 = Susie tells her father that Buzzy is taking her to the Premiere Ballet on a "dutch treat," which Mr. Gruff takes as insulting and somehow insists that Buzzy agrees with him. When Buzzy arrives, they both try to cajole him with comfortable sitting, making him nervous. He paradoxically agrees with Susie and then her father, but they demand he give a more straight answer. Buzzy folds his legs and says as a "judge," he's going to *reserve decision*! While he ruminates on this, the two go out to try to bribe him with sweets. He takes long enough that he gets to eat all the ice cream and cake they bought, then decides he *doesn't* want to go to the ballet, since he's stuffed. Mr. Gruff calls this a victory for him, since *she didn't go* with him, but she insists Buzzy is still "on the fence," but then shows she means literally: a dog has chased him up there, winning her secondary bet with her dad.

| StoryTitle4 = Scribbly | Synopsis4 = Clover and Scribbly are getting ready for their biggest date yet… but so is Bentley, thinking *he* has a date with Clover to his *butler*, Cripps. Clover unhelpfully tells the two boys that **since her mother has declared her “too young to go steady with *one* boy”** she intends to **somehow go steady with *both of them***. For some reason, Mrs. Cooley agrees (and now has blonde hair.) Bentley trips Scribbly, making him break a cheap $5 vase, which Clover writes down. Next, Scribbly cracks a $7.50 “Malacca” handle umbrella. She marks down how they break their $4 window and into their $6 evergreen shrub. Mr. Cooley arrives home and finds he can't find his key, only for Scribbly to punch Bentley **entirely through the front door**, holding a golf club he broke on his head. Thus, Clover walks out to her infuriated father and says that trying to date *two* boys has cost him $72.50 in *only a half-hour*. He is upset at this and later, she reasons to Scribbly that now her father says if they *don't* go steady, he'll **break Scribbly's neck**!

| StoryTitle5 = Buzzy (4) | Synopsis5 = Wolfie is rejected by Susie to go to the barn dance and hears that Mr. Gruff demands that she be home by 11:30pm or he'll *never* let them go out again. Wolfie takes the last parking spot on higher ground, since the ground outside Ye Olde Barn Dance is extra muddy, but Buzzy says that this is Binks' Jeep and it's an old Army surplus with *four-wheel drive*! Wolfie decides to rig the car, closing a tiny dam next to the barn to wash it out, then pays the man shouting Change Partners to get a longer dance with Susie. Buzzy shouting it does about the same for everyone though. Wolfie heads out and finds that the flood has gotten *too high* and might drown *everyone's* cars. They all express how they hate him for this as they're forced to wade through neck-high water to get to their cars. Buzzy just starts up the waterproof Jeep and once they've driven out, the other partygoers dump Wolfie's car into the water, which he moans will be stuck there for *days*!
