Reading this edition’s market

Compare the same cover, printing and grade before setting a bid. A raw guide or a higher-grade price does not establish a slab’s value. Include selling fees, shipping and the depth of completed-sale evidence when assessing an exit price.

The table includes 9 guide observations and 0 catalog references. These are reference values, not guaranteed sale proceeds.

Breakout!: Part 1

With the Avengers disbanded and both the Fantastic Four and the X-Men occupied elsewhere, a mysterious employer hires Electro to carry out a major assignment: infiltrate the Raft and free a specific prisoner.

Matt Murdock, Luke Cage, and Foggy Nelson travel with Jessica Drew to the Raft, the maximum‑security wing of Ryker's Island designed to contain super‑powered criminals. They are escorted through the facility to meet Murdock’s client. The Raft houses some of the most dangerous inmates in the world, including the Purple Man, with whom Luke Cage has a personal history.

The group descends by elevator to the lowest level—eight stories underwater—when suddenly the Raft’s power systems shut down.

The blackout extends beyond the Raft, plunging New York City into darkness. As civilians react to the outage, a massive lightning strike hits the Raft.

At home, Peter Parker initially welcomes the blackout as an excuse to avoid watching a movie with Mary Jane, until he notices the lightning bolt striking the prison.

Spider-Man hitches a ride toward the Raft by clinging to the underside of a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopter. A stray lightning blast hits the aircraft, sending Spider-Man falling into the river. After swimming through the freezing water, he reaches the Raft, where he encounters the helicopter’s passenger: Captain America.

Inside the Raft, Electro materializes in a burst of electricity, locates the inmate he was hired to free, and triggers a mass breakout by releasing the rest of the prisoners to cover their escape.

As explosions shake the facility, Murdock urges Jessica Drew to bring them to his client. They reach the cell of a disheveled, reclusive man. Murdock pleads for his help and reveals his identity: Robert Reynolds, the Sentry, one of the most powerful beings on the planet, who has voluntarily imprisoned himself after believing he killed his wife.
