Listen Up!

Robin, Superboy and Impulse fight duplicates of the JLA and the Titans, but something affects the sound waves around them, making it impossible for them to talk to each other. Superboy tells the others they should give up and embrace the false world, and suddenly sound returns to normal.

On Earth 0, Wonder Girl, Cissie and Red Tornado head to the abandoned Titans Tower West, looking for a vehicle to take them off world, as Cassie believes the boys are on another planet. Cissie asks why they don't go to Mount Justice and Cassie coldly tells her the old headquarters were destroyed after she quit. They enter the Tower through a hall of statues of all the Titans who died in action and Cassie reflects on all the friends she has lost, saying it always felt like a matter of time before she ended up as a statue in the hall too. Cissie is horrified and asks why Cassie never talked to her about any of this, and Cassie yells at her that when she quit the team she cut Cassie out as well as the boys.

As there are no jets left in the tower, they take Wonder Woman's invisible plane into space. This time Cissie tries to apologise to Cassie, but Cassie doesn't want to hear it either, saying they haven't been friends in a long time. Red Tornado admonishes them, and tells them that they are friends and have been through too much together not to be honest with each other. He also congratulates Cassie for not bottling up her feelings any more, but before he can say any more, the ship is attacked by Space Mites, who begin to devour the ship.

Back in the false world, Superboy tries to convince the others to stop fighting, once again whining about how he died. Robin moans that Superboy's death was traumatic for him too, and they bicker until Impulse yells at them that they only care about themselves and never pay attention to anyone else, and he understands why Cassie got sick of both of them.

Meanwhile in the real world, Cissie ventures out of the invisible jet in a spacesuit to shoot the Space Mites, but one of them cuts her tether and she falls into space. Red Tornado flies after her, Cassie is terrified and frantically tells Cissie she is sorry. Red Tornado catches her, to Cassie's relief, and they are suddenly bathed in a mysterious red light.

Meanwhile, Impulse realises that only one of their old villains would have created a world as deliberately immature as the one they are in: Mister Mxyzptlk. As soon as he thinks this, the world around them dissolves into a swirl of colour and a man dressed in orange and purple appears in front of them. However, this is not the elderly Mxyzptlk, but a young man in his twenties like them. The stranger introduces himself as Mickey Mxyzptlk, the son of Mister Mxyzptlk and their "biggest fan". He tells them they need to stay with him or they will "ruin our childhood".
